The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich?













May I propose a breakfast sandwich for locavores: A homemade grainy roll, toasted, with a free range egg, local cheddar, a thick slice of tomato, and fresh basil. It's going to be a great day.

Gently fry the egg over easy, over medium heat in olive oil. Top the egg with a slice of cheese after you turn it. At the same time toast that bun (doesn't have to be homemade, Trader Joe's has 100% whole wheat burger buns). Salt and pepper complete the picture.
